Yes. Linguaschools schools offer weekly cultural activities and weekend excursions throughout the year. Activities vary by destination, season and week, and the current program is shared with students at the school.

Some activities are free. For others, a small fee may be charged to cover costs such as transport, entrance tickets or materials. The activities and excursions shown on our website are examples of activities we regularly offer.

In most schools, the activity program is planned shortly in advance, so we cannot always confirm the exact activities before your arrival. Some activities require a minimum number of students.

Yes. All Linguaschools schools have free Wi-Fi for students.

Yes. Linguaschools schools close on official holidays. When the school is closed for a holiday, there are no lessons.

Missed group lessons are usually not made up, but this can vary by school and course type. If there are two public holidays in the same week, at least one day of lessons is usually compensated during the rest of the week.

You can check the school holiday dates for your destination before booking.

Before your course starts, we will inform you through your personal page what time you should arrive at the school.

If you are not an absolute beginner, you will take a Spanish level test before or on your first day. This helps us place you in a group that matches your level. Some schools also organise a welcome talk or a short guided introduction to the school or surrounding area.

After this, your Spanish lessons begin.

In most destinations, lessons take place in one main school building. In some schools, classrooms may be located in two or more nearby buildings.

If your lessons take place in a different nearby building, the school will inform you.

Yes. Linguaschools schools have a mainly adult-focused learning environment, especially in our general group Spanish courses.

Most students in our general courses are adults with different ages, levels, nationalities and study goals. This includes short-stay language travellers, long-term students, university pathway students, exam-preparation students, expats, digital nomads and international residents.

In summer, we may have some students aged 16 or 17 at our schools, depending on the destination and the course. Individual students younger than 16 can usually book private Spanish lessons, depending on the school and availability.

We also welcome younger students in customised closed groups and school group travel programs.

Yes. All Linguaschools schools in Spain, Argentina and Costa Rica offer Spanish courses through schools accredited by Instituto Cervantes, either directly or through local academic partner schools.

Linguaschools Barcelona, Linguaschools Madrid and Linguaschools Granada are directly registered under their Linguaschools school names as Instituto Cervantes accredited centres. Other Linguaschools destinations, including schools in Spain, Argentina and Costa Rica, are connected to Instituto Cervantes accreditation through local academic partner schools or local accredited entities that form part of the Linguaschools network.

For other countries, accreditation and official recognition depend on the country and school. Some schools may be recognised by local education authorities, tourism bodies or other relevant organisations in their country.

If you need a specific accreditation or recognition for a visa, funding application, university pathway program or employer, please contact us before booking so we can confirm the details for your chosen school and course.

Most Linguaschools courses start on Monday and end on Friday. Starting in the middle of the week is usually not possible for group courses.

Most courses start every Monday throughout the year. If Monday is an official holiday and the school is closed, the course will usually start on Tuesday.

Absolute beginners have fixed start dates. Some special courses, such as exam preparation courses or extensive evening courses, may also have specific start dates. Customised individual lessons can often start on other weekdays, depending on teacher availability.

The exact start time of your first lesson will be shown on your personal page no later than 5 days before your course starts.

Depending on the destination, level, course type and season, lessons may start in the morning or afternoon. In many destinations, morning lessons start between 7:30 and 9:30, but timetables can vary.

Linguaschools schools welcome students of different Spanish levels throughout the year, so we can usually place students in a suitable group.

In the exceptional case that you are the only student at your level, you will receive a reduced number of private lessons instead of group lessons. This gives you individual teacher attention while keeping the course focused on your level and learning needs.

Group Spanish lessons usually take place in the morning or afternoon, depending on the destination, level, course type and season.

As a general indication, group lessons may take place between 9:00 and 14:00 or between 14:00 and 19:00. Timetables vary by destination and may change during busy periods.

Your confirmed timetable will be shown on your personal page before arrival.

The DELE exam, Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera, is an official Spanish exam awarded by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of Spain’s Ministry of Education.

DELE exams follow the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR, with levels from A1 to C2.

Linguaschools offers DELE exam preparation courses, and some Linguaschools schools are official DELE exam centres. Contact us if you want to prepare for the DELE exam or take the exam during your stay.

SIELE is an official Spanish proficiency exam that certifies your Spanish level through a points-based system. The results correspond to CEFR levels from A1 to C1.

Linguaschools offers SIELE exam preparation courses, and some Linguaschools schools are official SIELE exam centres. Contact us if you want to prepare for the SIELE exam or take the exam during your stay.

Please contact the school reception or student support team if you think your group level is not right for you.

The school will discuss your situation with your teacher or academic coordinator and explain the available options. If another group is more suitable and available, a level change may be possible.

Linguaschools students come from many different countries, ages and backgrounds. In our general group courses, most students are adults with different study goals, from short-stay language travellers to long-term students, university pathway students, exam-preparation students, expats, digital nomads and international residents.

The student profile can vary by destination, course type and time of year. In Spain, there may be a higher proportion of younger adult students during the summer months.

Yes. On the last day of your course, you will receive a certificate showing the course dates, the number of lessons attended and the Spanish level of the course you followed.

A minimum attendance of 80% is required to receive the certificate.

Spanish level certificates from other schools, universities or institutions do not always reflect the same interpretation of CEFR levels.

At Linguaschools, we place students according to the Instituto Cervantes level framework and the practical Spanish level needed for communicative Spanish immersion lessons. This means we look not only at grammar knowledge, but also at listening, speaking, reading, writing and how comfortably you can follow and participate in lessons taught in Spanish.

University courses and other language programs [in other countries] may use a different teaching format, pace or evaluation system. A student may therefore have a certificate for a certain level, but feel more comfortable and make better progress in a lower Linguaschools group.

If you have questions about your level placement, you can speak with the school team or your teacher.

Yes. Lessons are taught in Spanish from the beginning, including at beginner level.

This is part of the Linguaschools communicative immersion approach. Teachers use Spanish as the main classroom language and support students with examples, context, gestures, visual material and clear explanations adapted to the level of the group.

At first, this can feel challenging, especially for complete beginners. However, it helps students get used to hearing Spanish, understanding meaning from context and using Spanish actively from the start.

Yes. Linguaschools accommodation is an optional service for students booking a Spanish course with us. You can also book your Spanish course only and organise your own accommodation.

The accommodation price includes basic utility bills such as water, gas and electricity. In some cases, a deposit is required, and we will inform you in advance if this applies. The deposit is refunded after departure if there are no damages or problems.

In most destinations, accommodation includes access to a washing machine. If this is not included, it will be mentioned in the accommodation information.

By default, accommodation is reserved from the Sunday before the course starts until the Saturday after the course ends.

Extra nights may be possible depending on availability and can be requested before arrival. Extra nights are charged separately. In Valencia, Saturday arrival is possible without extra cost. In Montañita and Tamarindo, Sunday departure is possible without extra cost.

If you want to request extra nights, please add a note to the online enrolment form or contact us before booking.

Distance varies by destination, accommodation type and availability. Accommodation is always arranged within a practical travel distance of the school.

Some accommodation options are within walking distance, while others require public transport or another form of local travel.

Please check the accommodation information for your chosen destination for more specific details.

Freshly washed bed linen is provided. Unless stated otherwise, students should bring their own towels.

Half board usually includes breakfast and dinner. Full board usually includes breakfast, lunch or packed lunch, and dinner.

Meal arrangements can vary slightly by destination and accommodation type.

If you are not satisfied with your accommodation, please contact the school reception or student support team. In many cases, small problems can be solved quickly.

If you still want to change accommodation, this may be possible depending on availability and the reason for the request. In some cases, a change fee may apply.

A cleaning service is usually included for common areas such as the bathroom, kitchen and living room.

Students are normally responsible for keeping their own bedroom clean and for everyday tasks such as washing dishes, taking out rubbish and keeping shared spaces tidy after use.

Yes, this is often possible. Please mention any special diet, allergy or requirement on the online enrolment form so we can take this into account and advise you on the best option.

This depends on the destination and host family. Some hosts welcome one student at a time, while others may host two or three students.

Where possible, we avoid placing students with the same native language in the same host family, so students have more opportunities to practise Spanish.

This can vary by destination and accommodation type. In many host families and shared apartments there is no lock on the bedroom. Student residences may offer a room lock, locker or security box, depending on the residence and room type.

Host family students have privacy and independence. As an adult member of the household, you can usually come and go as you need.

However, you should respect the host’s routines and avoid disturbing the household late at night. If you will not be home for a meal, please inform your host in advance.

Yes. Wi-Fi is available in all Linguaschools accommodation.

Yes. Hot water is available in all Linguaschools accommodation, except host family accommodation in Montañita , where hot water cannot always be guaranteed.

Yes, in all destinations you may arrive late at night. However, in Barcelona and Valencia there are some limitations and you might have to pay an additional fee, or book an airport transfer to do a late check-in.

In shared apartments and many student residences, students can use the kitchen to prepare their own meals.

In host family accommodation, kitchen use is usually limited. You may be able to prepare a light snack, but students normally do not use the kitchen to cook their own meals. If you want to prepare your own meals, a shared apartment or student residence may be a better option.

Students from European Union countries do not need a student visa to study Spanish in Spain.

Students from some non-EU countries can stay in Spain for up to 90 days without a visa, depending on their nationality and personal situation. If you plan to study in Spain for more than 90 days, you will usually need to apply for a Spanish student visa or study stay authorization before arrival.

Visa rules depend on your nationality, length of stay, course type and the Spanish embassy or consulate where you apply. Always check the current requirements with the Spanish embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence before booking your course.

Some students can enter without a visa for a short stay, while others may need to apply for a visa before travelling. Requirements can also change, so we recommend checking the current entry rules with the embassy or consulate of your destination country.

For Spain, you should check the Spanish embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence. Visa applications are usually handled by the consulate covering the area where you legally live.

The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides information about Spanish embassies and consulates around the world. You can also use Embassy Finder to locate the relevant consulate, but the official consulate website should always be your main source for current visa requirements.

Linguaschools provides the Letter of Acceptance free of charge for students booking a visa-eligible Spanish course.

Before issuing the Letter of Acceptance, we require payment for the full program, including course and accommodation where applicable. We can send a digital copy by email.

If your visa is denied, please inform us as soon as possible and send us a copy of the official visa denial letter by email.

In some cases, we may be able to advise you on possible next steps or help you understand what additional information may be needed. If your visa is definitely rejected and you need to cancel your reservation, you can receive a refund according to our terms and conditions.

For a long-term study visa or study stay authorization in Spain, students need to enrol in a full-time, visa-eligible course. For Spanish language courses, the minimum course intensity is 20 lessons per week.

The most common Linguaschools options for student visa purposes are the Intensive 20 Spanish course, long-term Intensive 20 options and the University Pathway Programs.

As a general rule, we recommend preparing your application several months before your planned course start date. Some Spanish consulates indicate that applications should be submitted at least two months before the beginning of the study program, but students should always check the current rules for their own consulate.

To guarantee a place on your course and accommodation, we recommend booking at least 2 weeks before your start date.

For some special accommodation options, availability must always be checked before confirmation. The online booking system will show this during the booking process.

To complete your online enrolment, you pay a down payment of €250 to secure your booking. The remaining balance can be paid online through your personal page online before the course starts, or on the first day of your course at the school reception.

If the total reservation amount is less than €250, you only pay the total reservation amount.

After enrolment, you receive login details for your personal online page. On this page, you can view your booking and make payments through our secure online payment system.

Yes. Linguaschools organises customised group programs for schools, universities, teachers, travel agencies and private groups.

Group programs can include Spanish lessons, accommodation, cultural activities and other services, depending on the destination and group needs.

Your enrolment is processed after we receive at least your down payment.

You can pay securely online by credit card, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Depending on your country and booking, you may also be able to pay by PayPal, direct debit, selected local payment systems or international bank transfer.

You can choose your payment method during the enrolment process. If you pay by international bank transfer, please use the exact reference code shown on screen and in your confirmation email.

No. Unless clearly stated otherwise, there is no separate enrolment fee or course material fee.

Linguaschools aims to keep pricing transparent. The course price shown during enrolment is the price you pay for the course, without extra fees for enrolment or standard course materials.

Each student should complete an individual enrolment through our website. On the second page of the enrolment form, add a note with the name of the person or people you are travelling with.

We will place you together in the same accommodation where possible, depending on availability and accommodation type. If you want to be in the same Spanish group, this is only possible if you have the same Spanish level.

For groups of more than two people, we will do our best to place everyone together, but this cannot always be guaranteed. Please contact us if you have specific wishes.

Yes. You can combine different Linguaschools destinations in one study trip.

For example, you could study Spanish for 4 weeks in Barcelona and then continue for 4 weeks in Salamanca. You can also combine more destinations, depending on your course plans and availability.

Yes. You can book an airport transfer before arrival in selected destinations.

A driver will pick you up at the airport and take you to your accommodation or to the school, depending on the destination and booking details. Airport transfer prices depend on the destination and distance from the airport.

The airport transfer is a one-way journey. A return transfer can usually be arranged at the school or added to your booking in advance on request.

You can bring your own surfboard or wetsuit if you prefer, but this is not required.

Spanish & Dance lessons are available for different levels. Please add a note to your enrolment form with your dance level, so the school can take this into account where possible.

No Spanish level is required for the dance part, but your Spanish course group will depend on your Spanish level.

Yes. You can bring your own guitar.

If you do not bring one, you can rent a guitar at the school for the duration of the course, so you can continue practising outside the lessons.

Yes, in many cases you can extend your Spanish & local experiences program after arrival, depending on availability, destination and activity schedule.

Spanish & local experience programs combine a Spanish course with a destination-specific activity or local experience. Depending on the destination, this may include options such as surf, dance, flamenco, culture, cooking, yoga, diving or other local experiences.

Spanish & local experiences are designed as add-ons to a Linguaschools Spanish course. They are normally booked together with your course, so you can combine language learning with a local activity or cultural experience.

Yes. Several Linguaschools schools have eligible Spanish courses recognised for Bildungsurlaub in different German federal states.

The most common recognised course options are Intensive 30 and Intensive 20+10, depending on the destination and the German federal state where you apply.

Bildungsurlaub rules vary by federal state, employer and course recognition. Please check the requirements for your federal state before booking, and contact us if you need confirmation for a specific Linguaschools school or course.

Yes. Linguaschools schools are recognised by CSN Sweden.

If you want to apply for CSN funding, please contact CSN and request the correct forms for your course. After we receive your enrolment and €250 down payment, we can send you a signed booking confirmation for your CSN application.

We recommend applying at least 5 weeks before your course starts. The CSN process usually takes around 3 weeks, and applying earlier gives you enough time to receive the decision and pay the remaining course and accommodation balance before arrival.

CSN funding is only available to eligible Swedish students. Please check the current CSN requirements directly with CSN before booking.

Yes. Linguaschools Madrid continues the school previously known as Spaneasy, now as part of the Linguaschools Spanish language school network. The school remains a small boutique-style Spanish school in central Madrid, next to Puerta del Sol, offering Spanish courses for adult learners.
