Learn Spanish in Granada

Linguaschools Granada

Linguaschools Granada is part of the Linguaschools Spanish language school network and offers Spanish courses in old-town Granada for adults and young adults from around the world. The school combines intensive Spanish courses, long-term study options, university pathway programs, accommodation, a Spanish for 50+ course and cultural activities with the personal atmosphere of a small boutique-style school.

GRANADA

Granada is one of Spain’s most atmospheric university cities, combining Andalusian culture, Moorish heritage, flamenco, tapas and a relaxed student rhythm. It is a city where Spanish learning can continue naturally outside the classroom, in old streets, local bars, cultural events and everyday conversations.

The city is best known for the Alhambra, the Albaicín, flamenco traditions and views of the Sierra Nevada, but Granada is also a very liveable place to study Spanish for several weeks or months. Its historic centre is walkable, the student atmosphere is lively, and daily life feels closely connected to local Andalusian culture.

Granada is especially well suited to students who want a smaller, more relaxed study-abroad experience than Madrid or Barcelona, while still enjoying a rich cultural life. Stay for a short course and you can discover the city’s main sights; stay longer and Granada can become a familiar home base for improving your Spanish, meeting people and experiencing life in Andalusia.

Alhambra

The Alhambra is the greatest legacy from the time of the Moors. It was the centrepiece for an entire civilisation and is most memorable for its attention to detail. Decorated archways, royal gardens, impressive fountains, Islamic calligraphy...you’ll struggle to find a more beautiful building anywhere else in Europe.

Albaycín

The Albaycín is a Granada district to explore on foot, without a map. It dates to the 11th century and is packed with narrow cobbled streets. There’s something to discover on every corner and not just something to see. This is a district that will impress on all your senses.

Tapas

Granada is the home of real tapas. With every drink you order the bartender brings out a plate of food to eat. Authentic bars don’t have a tapas menu, they give you tapas so you keep ordering drinks. It’s a way to experience local Granandino culture, every evening.

Sierra Nevada

The Sierra Nevada mountains appeal to many types of visitor. There are hiking trails galore, with some of them ideal for a full-day adventure. Small whitewashed villages are filled with Moorish culture, while other villages are perfect for a quiet weekend away from Granada.

Flamenco

A passionate guitar players strums away. A dancer twirls and stamps her feet. Singing fills the room. Flamenco isn’t just a show in Granada, it’s a way of life. Other than Seville there’s nowhere better in the world to experience this authentic flamenco culture.

Cultural activities in Granada

Learning Spanish in Granada is not only about the classroom. Linguaschools Granada organises cultural activities throughout the year, helping students practise Spanish, meet other international students and discover the city through local experiences.

Activities can include tapas evenings, neighbourhood walks, flamenco-related activities, cultural visits, workshops and excursions connected to Granada and Andalusia. The program is organised locally, so students can experience the city in a more personal way while using Spanish in real situations outside class.

Granada is especially strong for cultural immersion. The city’s old town, Albaicín, flamenco traditions, tapas culture, university atmosphere and nearby Sierra Nevada give students many ways to keep learning and practising Spanish after lessons have finished.
