Linguaschools San Sebastián is part of the Linguaschools Spanish language school network and offers Spanish courses in San Sebastián for adults and young adults from around the world. The school combines intensive Spanish courses, short- and longer-term study options, accommodation, personalised student visa support, a Spanish & surf option and cultural activities with the atmosphere of a modern school in an elegant coastal city.
San Sebastián is an elegant coastal city in the Basque Country, known for its beaches, pintxos culture, compact old town, green hills and relaxed rhythm by the sea. It is a strong destination for students who want to learn Spanish in a smaller city where local life, beach access and cultural experiences are easy to combine.
The city has several distinct areas students quickly get to know. La Concha Beach is ideal for walks, swimming and relaxed afternoons after class. The old town is full of narrow streets, pintxos bars and local atmosphere. Zurriola Beach has a more active surf culture, while the hills and coastal paths around the city make it easy to enjoy nature close to the centre.
San Sebastián is especially well suited for students who want a compact, high-quality study-abroad experience. You can study Spanish in the morning, meet classmates for pintxos, walk along the bay, surf at Zurriola, visit nearby Basque villages or join weekend excursions in the region.

Linguaschools San Sebastián offers Spanish courses for different levels, goals and time commitments, from short intensive courses to longer study stays. The courses are designed mainly for adult learners, including international students, longer-stay students, exam-preparation students and students who want to combine Spanish learning with coastal life or activities such as surfing.
Students can choose group courses, combination courses with extra individual lessons, private lessons, online Spanish options and DELE exam preparation. Classes are taught in small groups, with students placed according to their Spanish level so they can learn at the right pace and practise with classmates from different countries and backgrounds.
Classes are taught by qualified native Spanish-speaking teachers and follow a communicative, teacher-led immersion approach. Teachers adapt the pace and focus of the class to the level, rhythm and learning needs of the group, while keeping students actively using Spanish from the beginning.
For students interested in a more active local experience, Linguaschools San Sebastián also offers a Spanish & surf option, combining Spanish classes with surfing in one of Spain’s best-known coastal cities for surf culture.
For students planning to stay in Spain for a longer period, Linguaschools San Sebastián offers visa-relevant Spanish course options that may be suitable for student visa purposes. Students booking a visa-eligible course can receive personalised guidance on course documentation, timing and the practical steps involved in preparing their Spanish student visa application.
Please bear in mind that the school is closed on bank holidays. Missed group lessons are generally not made up for. In summer we organise a free bank holiday excursion instead. When there are 2 public holidays in 1 week, 1 day of missed group lessons will be made up for.
Linguaschools San Sebastián offers accommodation options for students who want a practical and comfortable base while studying Spanish in the city. Options include shared apartments and host families, giving students a choice between more independent living and more contact with local daily life.
Accommodation options are available within approximately 30 minutes travel distance of the school, depending on the chosen option and availability. This helps students organise daily life in San Sebastián, get to class, join activities and enjoy the city during their stay.
Accommodation is especially useful for students coming from abroad, longer-stay students and those planning a longer stay in Spain. Availability, room type, meals and distance can vary depending on the accommodation option and booking period.
Learning Spanish in San Sebastián is not only about the classroom. Linguaschools San Sebastián organises cultural activities throughout the year, helping students practise Spanish, meet other international students and experience local life in the Basque Country.
Activities can include pintxos tours, beach activities, surfing or stand-up paddle boarding, salsa classes, movie nights, guided hikes, visits to Basque villages and weekend excursions to places such as Biarritz, Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum, Rioja wine areas or the Basque countryside.
San Sebastián is especially strong for cultural immersion because the city is compact, social and closely connected to its local food, beach and outdoor culture. Students can keep practising Spanish after class while discovering pintxos bars, coastal walks, nearby villages and the rhythm of everyday life in the Basque Country.
