- Take an evening Spanish course: Are you living, or planning to live in Barcelona and think you still have some time and energy left after work, internship or (Erasmus) studies? - Vamos a la playa! Any time you are suffering from the heat, remember that you have the whole coast of the city at your disposal! La Barceloneta, Llevant, Nova Icaria… there are many beaches where you can go and sunbathe, swim, have some drinks or just chill with your friends next to the Mediterranean Sea.
- September 11th: the National Day of Catalunya is a day-long festival in Catalonia, which commemorates the fall of Barcelona in 1714, during the War of Spanish Succession. For many people it is a simple celebration of their Catalan identity, but many others use the occasion to express their political feelings, with peaceful protests to demand independence from Spain. Although many shops are closed, it is indeed a nice day to take a walk in the city on a sunny Saturday, enjoy the festive atmosphere, taste some local food, visit a museum or go to see a concert in Arc the Triomf.
- Celebrate “el día de Brasil”: Festival Día de Brasil will be celebrated in Poble Espanyol September the 4th! This means a Sunday full of concerts, activities, cultural events and gastronomy. All in Brazilian style. The entrance is €8 euros. Get your tickets in advance.
- Visit an art gallery: Barcelona Galley Weekend (September the 15th–18th) is an annual four-day event promoted by the association Art Barcelonaopen to all the galleries of the city and its outskirts. It gathers a general programme of exhibitions in art galleries and a parallel programme of guided visits by the gallerists, artists and curators, performances, talks, presentations and other special activities around contemporary and avant-garde art. - Attend any event of La fiesta de la Mercè: Between September the 23th and 26th, Barcelona celebrates the La Mercè Festival. A celebration that will fill the city with traditional events, street arts, circus, dance, music and much more. In addition to being a great civic event, it’s also a macro-festival made up of diverse festivals that record the cultural richness of the Catalan capital: from the “Mercè Artes de Calle” festival to displays of popular culture, including the BAM and Acción Cultura Viva festivals and the program of Música Mercè, which this year offer more than five hundred activities. - Have dinner under the stars: You can book a night out at the Fabra Observatory during the summer months, which combines scientific dissemination with a suggestive gastronomic proposal. Dinner takes place in the open air, at one of the most privileged viewpoints of the city of Barcelona. The evening begins with the dinner, and afterwards there’s a science conference. Then you can also visit the museum and enter the great dome room, where you’ll observe elements of distant constellations, stars, and a great part of the Solar System!
- Watch a mind-blowing skate performance: From September the 16th to the 18th we will have the 12th edition of Extreme Barcelona, with a StreetPlaza remodeled for the occasion. The best international skaters, bmx and scooter riders, have already confirmed their attendance at the most international urban event in Barcelona.
- Discover Dalí in a different way: From September the 20th IDEAL BCN Center offers an immersive journey through the mind of Salvador Dalí, which will allows the visitors to discover how the brilliance of his work is the result of an open, ambitious, provocative and also scientific way of thinking. Dalí’s poetic and dreamlike universe is found with large-format projections, interactive installations, holograms, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Sounds pretty interesting, doesn’t it?
