A hidden picnic spot in Barcelona: Teatro Griego

After our Spanish classes we took the metro (L3) from Passeig de Gracia to Poble Sec, from there we walked up through narrow streets with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants until we reached the end of the road and walked into a small green path. As soon as we looked around the corner we hit this massive amazing open air theater called Teatro Griego.

The Teatro Griego (“Greek Theatre”) is an open-air theatre in the Montjuïc hill. The theatre was built in 1929 by the Catalan architect Ramon Reventós in the style of the ancient Greek theatres as part of the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. The main use of this theatre is in summer festivals such as the Festival Grec de Barcelona.

Around the theater there are beautiful gardens were you can stroll around and enjoy nature within the city.
