Every year hundreds of students come to our school to study in Santiago. Not only do they come to learn Spanish but also to get to know the most interesting places in the capital of Chile.
That’s why at Linguaschools Santiago, we organized a visit to the General Cemetery. Despite being near the city center, it’s a very quiet and peaceful place where one can come to relax and feel miles away from the busy Santiago city center.
In the General Cemetery there are a large number of celebrity graves: from former Chilean presidents to famous artists. Some tombs look like small churches and have truly intriguing stories.
The General Cemetery is also a huge park that has lush trees that cast large shadows. Therefore, it’s an ideal place to visit in hot summer days and enjoy the silence and scenic beauty. In addition, it’s a site frequented by photography lovers.
