- Visit the Encants Market: When you don’t have much money to spend but you still need some new decoration for your piso, this is your market! Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 until 15:00 the vendors stall out their stuff under the huge mirror roof of the Encants market. Don’t miss the biggest flea market of Barcelona! You can find everything here, antique, vintage, new. Mercat dels Encants, Avenida Meridiana 69, metro Glories (L1). During our Poble Nou tour with students we always visit this market.
Tuesday, 20th August
- Fiestas de Gracía: From today you can see the streets of Gracía decorated with spectacular ornaments, prepared by neighbours for months. They hope to win the price for the best decorated street. La Festa Gracia is very popular in whole Catalonia. It attracts citizens of Barcelona and all foreigners who come to the district to enjoy the summer terraces, live music and most of all, the beautifully decorated streets. Every year we help the neighbours out with the decorations. It was so much fun to be part of this amazing local event.
Wednesday, 21th August
- Gandules’19 – outdoor cinema: Parallel universes, time travel and the overthrowing of rational order are the stars of the Gandules’19 cycle. This August, the CCCB’s summer cinema offers ten films in which concepts deriving from the quantum revolution have inspired the creation of new imaginaries. Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in August at 22.00 at Pati de les Dones. Free entrance. In case of rain, the session will move to the Hall of CCCB. CCCB, Carrer de Montalegre 5, metro Universitat (L1 and L2).

- Picasso´s years in Barcelona (guided tour): We will explore the streets of Barcelona, after the 1888 exhibition and the demolition of its walls, a modern city, in full growth. The city where Picasso arrived, when he was only 13 years old, in 1895 and remained intermittently until 1904, when he finally moved to Paris. The industrial impulse had created wealth. It was a place full of opportunities and a center of advanced ideas. Picasso’s Barcelona is the old Barcelona: where he lived, where he studied, where he worked, where he had his first workshops, where he enjoyed and also plunged into great sadness during the Blue Stage. The Barcelona that he drew and painted and that always accompanied him throughout his life. - DGTL Festival: During this techno festival at Parc Forum you can expect laser shows, a revolution market, art, a toxic parade, completely veggie food and techno music by dj’s from all over the world. Saturday, 24th August
- Vegan Fair: A monthly vegan fair of homemade products, cheap and healthy. We are in the center of Barcelona in the Ciutat Vella district close to the metro Arc de Triomf or Urquinaona. We’ll open at 14:00 with a wide range of food, costume jewellery, natural cosmetics and personal hygiene products, books, screen printed T-shirts and fabric bags, accessories. At 17:20 we’ll host a very interesting talk “MEAT THE VICTIMS¨ a global non violent movement against species by ACTION FOR LIBERATION. At 19:00 a live gig with SHACAL animal rights rock.
