In June, we visited the fair! From the 16th to the 20th, the students at Linguaschools Granada went out on the streets to ask the locals about their festivities and to enjoy first-hand one of the most traditional processions in the city: La Tarasca.
On the 19th, the school organized an activity to learn Sevillanas, a traditional dance from Andalucía, danced in pairs during these festivities.
Students spent a great time outside the classroom, and they even dared to dance a little bit!
To keep local traditions alive, we taught our students about Carocas and Quintillas: witty rhymed verses accompanied by humorous drawings that comment on social, cultural, or political issues in Granada.
Inspired by this unique tradition, we launched our very own Carocas and Quintillas contest at the school! Our students got creative and wrote their own pieces, which we proudly displayed at the school.
Everyone had the chance to vote for their favorite, and at the end, we all celebrated Stefani and Fadoua as the winners of our very first competition. 🎉 We’re so proud of them!
