A few days ago, we remembered a great activity we had with our students at Linguaschools Valencia last year. We organized many activities with them, but this one everyone remembered as the best: we visited the Prado Museum, without leaving Valencia!
As it turns out, the Prado Museum came to the Caixa Forum building, in the City of Arts, with an exhibition of 19th-century portraits. Our students, art lovers, were willing to visit the exhibition, and we thought it was a great idea to take them and practice Spanish vocabulary.
So, we headed to the modern and ecological Caixa Forum building, where we enjoyed a fantastic afternoon learning vocabulary related to art, painting, and sculpture.
After a while, we also became sort of the museum’s cultural guides!
After visiting the exhibition, each student chose their favorite painting and explained to the group in detail why they had chosen it and what caught their attention.
We not only enjoyed a cultural afternoon, but also spent time discussing art and culture in Spanish.
This is a fun way of practicing the language and adding more vocabulary related to art. The students spent what they called “the best afternoon since they arrived at the school”, and we were happy to watch them enjoy so much.
Could we beat that experience this year?! Stay tuned! 😉
