Casa Vicens is the first masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí and sowed the seeds of later works.
Built between 1883 and 1885 as a summer house for the Vicens family in barrio Gràcia. Here he showcased his unparalleled talent. Declared Unesco World Heritage in 2005.
We went there on Friday afternoon after Spanish class at our Barcelona school. We were amazed by the beauty and the special features of the house and imagined people living in there. We walked around and let us inform by the audio guide which we could hear from our own phones. The house has 3 floors and a beautiful rooftop terrace where we spend some time to admire the view over Gràcia.
