One of the favorite trips of Linguaschools Valencia‘s students is the excursion to the Albufera. The Albufera is a lake very near the sea that is 20 km from Valencia and was declared a Natural Park in 1986.
A few days ago, we went with our students to this beautiful place, whose name comes from the Arabic word al-buhayra which means “little sea.” The Albufera is an icon of Valencia and has inspired great artists.
On the excursion, the students enjoyed a beautiful day in the Albufera, got to know some traditions of the Valencian culture, toured the lake by boat, and ended the afternoon on a nearby beach, having a refreshing swim in the Mediterranean Sea. It was the perfect end for an excellent day.
