Monday, 23th September

BAM at La Mercé: The new sounds of pop, rock, hip-hop and electronic music have a prominent place in this music festival. Go and listen to the free concerts and you can be sure that you will discover a new favourite band. From the 20th until the 23th of September. Check the times of all the concerts around town.

Tuesday, 24th September

La Mercé 2019: The great festival of tradition. La Mercè festival as you know it today came into being in the early 20th century, when the celebrations became a compendium of Catalan traditions. A hundred years later, you can discover the wealth of Barcelona’s festival iconography, stroll among giants and dragons and immerse yourselves in a world of traditions. This festival takes place in the whole city and today is the last day. Check the full program here.

Wednesday, 25th September

Barcelona Short Films: We screen the best Short Films and Animations from around the World. This time we will celebrate this amazing season with a best of the best from the whole season. The idea is to have a different movie experience. At the same time as you get to watch some cool short movies (documentaries, animations, drama, comedy, etc) you can meet locals and International people and have a drink (or Jägermeister) together. A more social way of watching films.
The films will be in English, Spanish and Catalan with subtitles, so a mixture of the best of both local and International films.

Thursday, 26th September

Swab (contemporary art fair): Swab will welcome you at the Italian Pavilion for its 12th edition (in front of la Font Màgica de Montjuic). It is a place to discover the most innovative artistic proposals and meet the local and international artists from all disciplines who are pushing the boundaries of expression and tracing the course of the art scene for the coming years. Today at 16:00 Collectors Preview (invitation only)
and at 18:00 Official Opening (invitation only) Friday, Saturday and Sunday the fair is open to everybody. Get your tickets in advance here. More info here.

Friday, 27th September

La Ruta del Vermut del Carrer de Blai: A route to live an experience that will awaken all your senses. A glass of vermouth that will make you forget your worries.
You are welcome every second weekend of each month to take La Ruta de Vermut del Carrer de Blai, where the charm of each participating venue will make you want to return. More info here. Metro Paral·lel, (L2 and L3).

Saturday, 28th September

James Murphy (5 hour dj set): Today you will get the chance to dance for 5 hours non stop on James Murphy’s ( LCD Soundsystem) beats. Get your tickets in advance (20€). Razzmatazz, Pamplona 88, metro Bogatell (L4).

Sunday, 29th September

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride: The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride unites classic and vintage style motorcycle riders all over the world to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health. The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney, Australia by Mark Hawwa. It was inspired by a photo of TV Show Mad Men’s, Don Draper astride a classic bike and wearing his finest suit. Mark decided a themed ride would be a great way of connecting niche motorcycle enthusiasts and communities while raising funds to support the men in our lives. Find more information here and here.

I met Lingua Barcelona in the summer of 2022, after a one-month course, I continued the course again in February and also attended the course last August and this September.My favorite and most helpful thing about Lingua is that the teachers are all so friendly and extremely supportive. I have never encountered any negative attitudes yet. I am grateful to all of them.I would also like to thank Laura,Christina, Soraya and Tamara, who contributed a lot to me.Now I cannot wait for the extensive online classes 🙂

Overall I've enjoyed the whole study period there, and I might recommend this school to my friends and anyone willing to improve their Spanish skills. The teachers I had are all very kind and knowledgeable people that operate with various useful techniques and methodologies throughout the classes (shoutout to Naná, Anna, Ana Maria, Mari, Arturo). I want also highlight the diversity of nationalities my group consisted of which, in my view, is a huge competitive advantage of the school in comparison with other language centers in Barcelona.

The trip I made to Spain to study at Linguaschool in Barcelona to study a spanish course was fantastic it has been one of the highlights of my life, for reals. Since I always wanted to go to Spain to study Spanish and Linguaschools helped me to make it happen it was smooth planning with their help. I can’t say enough of the class settings, faculty, and my room accommodations I stayed with a wonderful family the hostess was Anna till this day I am friends on Facebook and remember them dearly. They made me feel like family. I would highly recommend Linguaschools. The teachers and accommodations are extraordinary 🤗💕

I studied at Linguaschools Barcelona for 10 weeks and finished just before Christmas 2020. The year of the pandemic.Firstly, the building is beautiful, there's a terrace at the front and a roof terrace too for those after class cervezas / nibbles with your international classmates.The teachers are wonderful and from a mixture of places, which is a great advantage because you get to know the different regional accents.I enrolled onto the Intensive 20 course which was from either 9.00 - 13.00 or 9.30 - 13.30. Perfect times as you still have the rest of your day to do whatever you like.Classes consisted of grammar, conversation, games, audio and the occasional sing song which was always a lot of fun.The teachers are friendly and fun, the environment is welcoming and the location is perfect too. There really is nothing bad to say about this school.Throughout the ever changing restrictions of the pandemic, we were all kept well informed and felt safe. After class activities were not possible for most of my time there but alternatives were provided.I really loved my time at Linguaschools and I am looking forward to returning in the coming months.
